I’m excited to share with you these hand-lettered “thanks for coming” party favor tags that I created for our Lego themed birthday party recently, (where we made these yummy Lego-shaped gummies!).
This project was born out of the party favor bags I created for my sons’ birthday party this year. I brush-lettered the “thanks for coming” phrase onto these goody bags. And after I was finished lettering each bag, I realized that this little phrase would come in handy for all sorts of different projects and occasions!
So, naturally, I put together a few different versions of my brush-lettered phrase to share with you! I’ve made you three different templates: a colored rectangle template, a black and white tag-shaped template, and a black and white rectangle template. There are so many ways to use them, and you can absolutely customize them to match your ocassion.
Print them out as cute little tags on any kind/color of paper you fancy, and attach them with cutesy twine. You can add your own embellishments onto the letters themselves, such as shadowing–or even add a doodled border around the tags. Something like this maybe?
Grab a cute set of scrapbook or cardstock paper and get creative! I loved using kraft style paper, and I found it in an 8.5 x 11 in. size pad, which made it easy to fit through my printer. I also loved the colored designs as well–so cheery! I actually picked these pads up at my local Walmart for around $5 (!), but if you’re having trouble finding some, you could try these on Amazon:
- the colored designs cardstock I used
- plain kraft cardstock (not the exact brand I used)
- glittery kraft cardstock (so cute!)
I intentionally left two of the templates black and white so that you could print them out onto any color of paper you like!
I really loved using these metallic Sharpies for embellishing. The package I bought had gold, silver, green, and pinkish/red metallic colors in it. They were the perfect amount of shine and completely opaque. I thought they really stood out on these kraft paper tags.
Additionally, you may be interested to know that I used Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White ink on some of the black lettering. I really love this stuff because it is completely opaque, and it looks fantastic on dark colored paper and envelopes. By using a calligraphy pen and nib, I was able to get the fine, small detail. But honestly, even a toothpick would work just as well to get those teeny tiny embellishments. 😉
You could print out the rectangle tags and layer them on top of a complementing color of cardstock, then glue them onto your own goody bags. Maybe use cute patterned scrapbooking scissors all around the border?
The possibilities are limited only by your creativity.
I hope you enjoy!
I’d love to know how you ended up using these tags in the comments below. Also, be sure to Pin It to save for later and to share with others!
